Dr. Johansson is the McCrane/Shaker Chairholder in International Business and Marketing at Georgetown University. He is an expert in the areas of international marketing strategy and consumer decision making, especially as applied to Japanese and European companies and markets. Dr. Johansson has published over 70 academic articles and book chapters. He has given speeches at numerous international conferences and seminars to academic institutions in many countries. He held faculty positions at the University of Washington and the University of Illinois and visiting appointments in several countries. Dr. Johansson is on the editorial boards of The Journal of International Business Studies and The Journal of International Marketing, and served for many years on the editorial board of the Journal of Marketing Research. He regularly reviews academic publications for a number of journals and book publishers, and is the author of two books, Relentless: The Japanese Way of Marketing and Global Marketing.
