Podcasts at JIU
You may recall that in the last JIU Insider, we announced plans for producing podcasts. We’re now pleased to let you know that a JIU series, which we call “JIU Cast,” will be available for download beginning December 1. It will cover issues in higher education and be posted on the pre-login JIU home page, as well as podcast outlets such as Jones Banana Network (http://www.banananetwork.com/) and iTunes. The podcasts will be downloadable onto iPods, MP3 players, and computers with audio capabilities.
The JIU Cast is formatted in a radio talk show style and features interviews with JIU faculty and students about areas that have broad appeal. Episodes include discussions about No Child Left Behind, the purpose and usefulness of the MBA degree, and the importance of personal reputation management in career planning. JIU faculty will also be recording podcasts for posting to their course sites. Look for this course-specific content in the coming months.
