BA-M 803B: Finalizing Review of Literature – II

Overview

(BA-M803A – continued) Throughout this mentoring session students will be engaged in learning new research methods.  Emphasizing the peer-to-peer mentoring model, each student will be engaged in leading a weekly graduate seminar discussion, team work with other members of the cohort, as well as projects that involve the entire cohort.  The faculty mentor will provide guidance and feedback to all students. Creating this “learning community” as quickly as possible provides a strong support system which research shows in critical to the successful completion of a doctoral degree program.

This mentoring session will focus on the content and assessment of the various parts of the literature review.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Understand the elements of a research literature review.
  • Ability to assess each piece of the literature review and to choose sources reflective of research question(s).
  • Categorize levels of significance of the literature to their specific research question.
  • Write the full draft of their review of literature.
