Overview

The purpose of the formal proposal course is to ensure that EdD students are able to pass the oral presentations of their formal dissertation proposals. Furthermore, once students successfully defend their proposals, they begin to collect data with a focus on data analysis and an eye towards dissertation completion.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Explore what the experts say about data collection.
  • Critically analyze with mentor and cohort the strengths and limitations of various data collection processes.
  • Begin to collect data with a focus on data analysis and an eye towards dissertation completion.
  • Reflect on perceived challenges and gaps of knowledge that propel the efforts in the next dissertation course.
